Can you tell us a bit about your career journey before joining Dstny?

My journey in the tech sector started after I completed my studies. I hold a Master’s degree in International Management, followed by a specialized Master’s in Marketing, Communications, and Event Management. These programs gave me a strong foundation in strategic marketing and a global perspective, which has been invaluable throughout my career.

After graduating, I began my career at Gemalto, a digital security company. I was hired as a Product Marketing Manager for the Middle East and Asia, and I spent a year based in Dubai. That was a fascinating experience, as I was responsible for managing the banking solutions market. I worked closely with the sales teams and the R&D department, which taught me how to bridge the gap between technical development and customer needs.

That sounds really cool. What was it like working in Dubai?

It was great but also challenging. Dubai has a very fast-paced, dynamic business environment, which I loved, but after a year, I knew it wasn’t the place I wanted to settle long-term. The general culture was a bit too superficial for me. Plus, I missed my family and friends back in Marseille. That’s when I decided to return to France and look for new challenges.

How did you find your way to telecommunications and Dstny?

After my experience in Dubai, I spent two years working for a medical congress organization, planning conferences all over the world. It was exciting at first, but it became repetitive. I craved something more dynamic and forward-looking. That’s when my best friend, who was working in marketing at Dstny, told me about an open position. I had loved my time at Gemalto, working with technical products, and this role at Dstny seemed like a perfect fit. I joined as a Product Manager, and it’s been a great journey since.

Your role at Dstny has evolved over time. Can you explain how that happened?

Yes, I started as a Product Manager, and at that time, the role also included a lot of marketing responsibilities. Two years ago, we restructured the company, separating marketing from product management. That’s when I transitioned into my current role as a Product Marketing Manager, focusing on implementing Group products in France. My job now is more strategic, but I still get to work closely with the product teams, which I love.

Can you describe a typical day in your work life?

I mainly work from home in Marseille. My days vary a lot, but I usually start with some maté tea, followed by checking my emails and catching up with colleagues. I have a few hours of overlap with our teams across Europe, so I try to schedule any collaborative work during that time. I often spend part of the day working on product launches, preparing marketing strategies, or working on content for roadshows.

Every couple of weeks, I travel to the Paris office for in-person meetings or events, and these trips are always something I look forward to. Since I don’t see my colleagues every day, it feels like an event whenever I go to the office. Every time I go, we have a little tradition of going out for sushi. My colleagues know that as soon as I’m in town, it’s time for a sushi lunch. I wait every two weeks just to enjoy that meal with them, haha!

That sounds wonderful! What do you think of the office culture at Dstny?

The community at the Paris office is something I really value. When I first joined, I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and supportive everyone is—it’s a great atmosphere. On sunny days, especially in the warmer months, many of us will head out after work to grab a drink together. These gatherings add a nice break from the routine of working from home and give me a sense of belonging to a vibrant and caring community.

How do you stay productive and focused during a workday?

Routine is essential for me, especially when I’m working from home. I always make it a point to get dressed and ready for the day, even though I’m not going into an office. It helps set the tone. I’ve also switched from coffee to maté tea, which keeps me energized throughout the day. Another thing that helps me stay productive is music—I’m a big Taylor Swift fan! Her albums, especially Folklore and Evermore, are perfect background music when I need to focus.

What excites you most about the future at Dstny?

I’m really excited about the potential of Dstny UCaaS in the French market. The business landscape here is still quite traditional, with a lot of reliance on desk phones, but we have a big opportunity to change that. I believe UCaaS will transform the way businesses communicate, and I’m excited to be part of that change. We’ve already made great progress, but there’s so much more to achieve. Our goal is to educate our partners and clients on the benefits of this technology and to become a leading player in this space.

What do you like the most about working at Dstny?

What I appreciate most about Dstny is its collaborative and international culture. I’ve always enjoyed working across teams and cultures, and Dstny gives me the opportunity to do that on a daily basis. Collaborating with colleagues from the UK, Belgium, and other parts of Europe brings a diversity of perspectives that leads to more innovative solutions. This diversity not only keeps the work dynamic and interesting but also pushes us to think creatively and approach challenges from different angles.

Beyond the collaboration, I also value the company’s commitment to innovation and flexibility. Dstny empowers its employees to take initiative and encourages new ideas, which makes the work environment both exciting and rewarding. The flexibility to work remotely and maintain a healthy work-life balance is another key aspect that I love about working here.

What advice would you give to someone looking to build a successful career in marketing?

I would say two things: stay curious and embrace collaboration. Marketing is always evolving, and it’s crucial to stay ahead of trends by being open to learning new things. But more importantly, I’ve found that the best ideas come from working with others. Collaborating with people from different backgrounds, whether it’s your colleagues or your customers, often leads to the most innovative solutions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and learn from those around you.
